One hundred Cubs from eight Scout Groups across West London came together for a fantastic weekend of adventure, friendship and celebration at our District Cubs Camp 2026.
Held at Phasels Wood Activity Centre from 2–4 October, the camp marked an incredible 110 years of Cub Scouting and we showed that today’s Cubs have every bit as much energy, enthusiasm and sense of adventure as the generations that came before them.

Throughout the weekend, Cubs threw themselves into a packed programme of activities. They experienced the thrills of the Cresta Run, worked together to see how high they could go with crate stacking, and reached new heights with Aeroball and Rolling Rock.
Back on the ground, there was plenty more action as Cubs raced each other on pedal karts, tested their accuracy with air rifles and skittles, and had the opportunity to slow things down and show their creative side with a variety of craft activities.

But District Camp is about much more than activities. Bringing together Cubs from eight different Groups gave our young people the chance to meet Cubs from across West London, make new friends and discover that they are part of something much bigger than their own Pack.
And, of course, no birthday celebration would be complete without a party!
Saturday evening saw a balloon-filled celebration, while the weekend also included that great Scouting tradition, gathering together around the campfire for songs, laughter and plenty of noise.

A camp on this scale simply couldn’t happen without a huge team of volunteers working behind the scenes.
We had an amazing catering team keeping 100 hungry Cubs and their leaders fed, terrific Young Leaders helping throughout the weekend, and a fantastic team of adult volunteers running activities, supporting the Cubs and doing the hundreds of little things that make a big camp run smoothly.

Most importantly, the Cubs went home having challenged themselves, tried something new, made new friends and created some brilliant memories.
110 years after Cub Scouting began, the adventure is very much still going strong in West London.
A huge thank you to Joanne and the entire team who put so much work into making District Cubs Camp 2026 happen, and to every leader, Young Leader and volunteer who helped make the weekend such a success.
Here’s to the next adventure!
